Is AspenClean organic?

We list 3 AspenClean products. Between them they carry EWG Verified, ECOCERT and Leaping Bunny, each confirmed on the brand's own page or the certifier's records. A seal belongs to a product, not a brand, so check the one you buy.

We have not tested these products. Each one was checked against the brand’s own page and the certifier’s records. Product links may be affiliate links: if you buy through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How we choose.

    1AspenCleanUnscented dishwasher pods

    Dishwasher Pods

Unscented pods for automatic dishwashers. AspenClean states they are EWG Verified, ECOCERT certified and Leaping Bunny certified, and free from fragrance, dyes, chlorine and phosphates. The page lists every ingredient, including sodium citrate, sodium carbonate, sodium carbonate peroxide and two enzymes.

Good to know: Not organic. The pod film is listed as polyvinyl alcohol polymer, which the brand describes as water-soluble. Like any pod, keep it away from children.

    2AspenCleanUnscented, EWG Verified

    Unscented Laundry Detergent

An unscented liquid detergent that AspenClean states is EWG Verified, ECOCERT certified as a natural detergent and certified by Leaping Bunny. The brand says it uses only plant and mineral-based ingredients and discloses all of them on the product page, starting with water and decyl glucoside.

Good to know: Not certified organic. The ECOCERT mark here is for a natural detergent, which is a different standard from organic. EWG Verified is stated by the brand.

A chlorine-free powder with five listed ingredients: sodium carbonate, sodium carbonate peroxide, sodium citrate, sodium silicate and hydrated silica. AspenClean states it is EWG Verified, ECOCERT certified and certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, and sells it in packaging it describes as compostable.

Good to know: Not organic. The brand's FAQ mentions disinfection in general terms, but this product is not an EPA-registered disinfectant and we make no such claim for it.

Questions people ask

Is everything AspenClean sells certified organic?

Not necessarily, and we do not claim it. Certification applies to individual products. We checked 3 AspenClean products for this site, and 3 of them carry at least one of the certifications listed here. For anything else the brand sells, look for the seal and the certifier's name on that product's label.

How can I check a AspenClean certification myself?

Each product below lists the pages we checked it against. For USDA Organic, search the USDA Organic Integrity Database for the company name. For GOTS, the GOTS public database lists licensed companies. Other seals are explained, with their lookup tools, on our labels pages.
