Is Dirty Labs organic?

We list 2 Dirty Labs products. Between them they carry EPA Safer Choice, each confirmed on the brand's own page or the certifier's records. A seal belongs to a product, not a brand, so check the one you buy.

We have not tested these products. Each one was checked against the brand’s own page and the certifier’s records. Product links may be affiliate links: if you buy through one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How we choose.

The Dirty Labs products we list

  1. Listed on Laundry Detergent

    1Dirty LabsConcentrated enzyme liquid

Free & Clear Bio Laundry Detergent

A concentrated enzyme detergent in an aluminum bottle. The EPA's Safer Choice product search lists Dirty Labs Bio Laundry Detergent Free & Clear and marks it fragrance free, and the brand's page says it is an EPA Safer Choice Fragrance-Free partner and formulated without dyes, optical brighteners or chlorine bleach.

Good to know: The "100% USDA Biobased certified" claim on the page is about renewable content and is not an organic certification. The brand notes that Safer Choice recognition is not an EPA endorsement.

  2. Listed on Wool Dryer Balls

2Dirty LabsWool standard named on the page

100% New Zealand Wool Dryer Balls

Dye-free and fragrance-free balls made from New Zealand wool. Dirty Labs is one of the few brands we checked that names a wool standard on the product page: it describes the wool as RWS certified, a reference to the Responsible Wool Standard.

Good to know: Carries no organic certification. The Responsible Wool Standard is not an organic standard, and we could not confirm the certificate in a public database. Listed for the undyed, unscented material and the named standard.

Questions people ask

Is everything Dirty Labs sells certified organic?

Not necessarily, and we do not claim it. Certification applies to individual products. We checked 2 Dirty Labs products for this site, and 1 of them carry at least one of the certifications listed here. For anything else the brand sells, look for the seal and the certifier's name on that product's label.

How can I check a Dirty Labs certification myself?

Each product below lists the pages we checked it against. For USDA Organic, search the USDA Organic Integrity Database for the company name. For GOTS, the GOTS public database lists licensed companies. Other seals are explained, with their lookup tools, on our labels pages.
